February Update

This is a 'before' shot of our oven space. We had a standard up-right oven. It was crappy, hard to clean and we had to use a chair to keep the oven door shut! So.......

with help from Dad we installed a new cooktop and oven.
We are very happy with the our new look kitchen.

We celebrated Lisa's __'th birthday!
And on the 27th our handsome boy turned 1!! Where has the year gone? We had a small family gathering. Unfortunately Cameron has been sick this past week so he did not have a great birthday and Sarah was very tired after a busy week at school.

Now please don't look too closely at the cake it is a store bought ice cream cake. I cooked three cakes last Friday only one turned out (still working out my new oven)!! My #1 cake looked nothing like the cake from the Women's Weekly Birthday Cake book. I dislike that book!!

JANUARY NEWS

We had a great start to the year spending time with family. Sarah and Cameron had so much fun playing with their cousins. (Unfortunately I don't have an snaps of Sarah and Cam with Will and Andrew). The holidays were going well until......

........one morning when Sarah discovered a wobbly tooth. After screaming for half the morning she finally calmed down and realised it wasn't that bad. However it took till the next day to come out with a little help from me and the promise of a visit from the Tooth Fairy.

On the same day Cameron started crawling! And now he is pulling himself up!!

We had a fantastic Australia Day long weekend at the Bunya Mountains. We camped (christened our new camper trailer) with friends, bush walked, feed the birds and relaxed.
And now here we are at the end of January....Sarah started Prep today. With a few tears and my heart filled with pride I watched my sweet grown-up girl start her school years.

**Slack Blogger Alert**

Here goes.....our life since start of November.

SARAH on her BIRTHDAY BIKE

SITTING BOY!!

THE WILD STORM
We didn't have too much damage at our place: The tree in the photo is in the park; the 'good neighbour' fencing coped a battering and we had water in our garage.

SARAH'S CHRISTMAS PARTY and CONCERT
At the end of November Tadpoles had their Christmas Party. The kids had a great time on a jumping castle and merry-go-round. Santa visited and handed out an early present. And we got to hear each age/class level sing some songs. (Sorry not too many pics of this event as there other kids are in our photos).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM
We celebrated Mum's birthday with a trip to the Sunshine Coast, it was a nice relaxing time. The next day we went to Underwater World.

December

SARAH'S GRADUATION

Sarah graduated from pre-school! The centre and teachers organised a special ceremony with awards and graduation caps and a party afterwards. The children said a poem....

I'm a graduate, yes it's true
I'm a graduate, oh h oh
A tiny piece of paper, is what I get
So you ought to be proud,
'Cause I'm the graduate

(Sarah finished pre-school at Tadpoles on Wednesday 10 December)

SIMON
At the start of December our life was turned upside down when Simon was made redunant from his job (along with another bloke who had been there 10 years!). Yay! Just what we needed before Christmas. After applying for quiet a few jobs he scored a storeperson/delieveries job at Repco, Nundah. He started today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIMON
We celebrated by 4wding at the Glasshouse Mountains with picnic lunch. Col getting stuck in the mud made Simon's birthday!

Sarah's 5th Birthday

Sarah's birthday celebration started early with Papa and Mama. She followed a trail of ribbon to find a brand new bike!! (I will update later with a picture of Sarah riding her bike). Her first ride on it was at 6am the following morning, too early to remember the camera!

Sarah's birthday stretched further to a camping weekend at Lake Somerset (Somerset Dam) with Nanny and Grandpa and her friends Emma and Jess and their Dad, Mum and Jamie.
On Sunday Aunty Lisa came up for games and cake. We had a treasure hunt, played games, made woven heart loot baskets, opened presents and had Heart Cake. She got some great presents....a Little Pet Shop set, a totem tennis game, Dora DVD, photo of her friends, hair ties, clothes and a scooter.
I couldn't resist taking this picture of Cameron sleeping in his port-a-cot. He's hugging his musical Tigger.

Open Day at School

Yesterday was the Open Day for Prep students at Sarah's school. We were guided around the school by the Deupty Headmaster. The children got to see and play in the prep playground, have a look at their classrooms and the library. I was able to order her uniforms and got the booklist!

Sarah is very excited and is ready to go to prep. However, I know that the time between now and start of the school year will go too quick (feeling a bit teary just thinking about it) and I will not be ready to send her. My first baby is going to school!!!!

We're Happy Little Vegemites

Mmmmm vegemite on toast! Cameron's first taste of this great Aussie icon (sorry Colin!). Sarah gladly shared one of her pieces of toast (which she prepared all by herself) with Cameron.
